GHK-Cu is a small copper-carrying peptide found naturally in human plasma (levels decline with age). It is one of the best-studied cosmetic peptides and is the 'skin glow' ingredient in blends like GLOW.
Most of the solid evidence is for topical use in skincare. Injectable use exists in the peptide community but is much less studied and is not FDA-approved.
GHK-Cu stimulates fibroblasts and boosts synthesis of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans, while helping balance matrix remodeling (via effects on matrix metalloproteinases). It also has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and pro-angiogenic actions, and it delivers copper, a cofactor for skin-repair enzymes.
Topical GHK-Cu has RCT-level support for reducing the appearance of fine lines and improving skin firmness and elasticity, plus strong animal wound-healing data. A representative trial reported roughly a 30% reduction in wrinkle depth and meaningful elasticity gains over about 12 weeks.
Injectable/systemic effects (for hair, connective tissue or 'anti-aging' beyond skin) are far less validated in humans.
Well-tolerated topically with genuine, repeatable skin benefits - smoother texture, improved tone and firmness - and good wound-healing support.
